Hawking And “Death Panels”

Shatner Does Palin

Corruption vs. Incompetence
July 4, 2009 at 2:24 pm | Posted in Politics, Rants | Leave a commentThe essence of the red-blue divide is that Republicans are much more forgiving of corruption, while Democrats are much more forgiving of incompetence. A smaller government usually results in more corruption, lacking the mechanisms and inefficiencies from big government. Big government usually results in the other extreme – incompetence – as seen by the problems facing California; however, there should be a system of checks and balances to ensure that the public are not cheated. Case in point are the recent scandals behind the two Republican governors Mark Sanford and Sarah Palin.
Financial shenanigans were used to cover up the former’s adultery, while the latter’s resignation is due to scandals related to the construction industry. The Palin scandal was noted as early as last October but was not pursued by the media due to GOP pressure. Alaska is a very Republican state with small government, and that has resulted in the state being run in ways that would make the Mafia blush.
What is Sex?
June 30, 2009 at 9:39 pm | Posted in Politics | Leave a commentWe’re going to have as much fun seeing Mark Sanford define what “sex” is as when Bill Clinton tried to define what “is” is.

Tiananmen +20

Eve Of Destruction
May 26, 2009 at 9:15 pm | Posted in Politics | Leave a commentSo this is it – this is the test Biden warned that Obama would face. North Korea’s decision to return the Korean peninsula to a state of war must be answered. The US and its’ allies must prepare for war – this means readying a response that can range from increased UN sanctions to tactical nuclear strikes on North Korean missile and artillery positions.
The last option may be needed since I’ve heard that over 20,000 artillery pieces are aimed at South Korea. This threat cannot be addressed by surgical air or missile strikes on heavily fortified mountain positions. However, the US must not follow the Bush-era policy of preemptive war, but a policy of no-first-strike. We have enough resources for any North Korean aggression.
Jane Harman – Hypocrite
April 21, 2009 at 9:29 pm | Posted in Politics | Leave a commentIn the grand tradition of Washington politics, the party in power gets caught in a web of arrogance and hypocrisy.
When you lie with Republican dogs, expect to get bitten by fleas.
The Future of the GOP

A Refreshing Change
February 4, 2009 at 7:29 pm | Posted in Politics | Leave a commentAt 1:27 in this video, President Obama shows why his first two weeks in office has been better than the previous eight years. We actually have a responsible and truthful adult running this country, someone that doesn’t try to spin events his way every chance he gets in front of the camera.
